ABOUT
THE OAKS RETREAT
Starting college can be intimidating. There's a
lot of new and a lot of unknown...
The Oaks exists to help you start strong and on a solid foundation. We know you have a place at Auburn and we want to help you find it. We're here to connect you to other freshmen, and to upperclassmen who have been in your shoes and who want to walk alongside you. We want to equip you with knowledge to help you navigate college well, but more than that, a deeper understanding and love of the Lord that will be your true foundation. We want you to leave the Oaks with confidence in where the Lord has placed you, connected to Christ-centered community, and equipped to make an impact during your college career and for the rest of your life.

As a freshman going to the Oaks, I was presented with a statement that who you are in college is who you become for the rest of your life. Due to the Lord’s great grace, the Lord used the Oaks to gift me with discipleship and the community who proved the truth of that statement and displayed what it meant to “waste your life” for the sake of the Gospel. I was irreversibly changed through the Oaks retreat and trust that he will do immeasurably more than I could ask at the retreat this upcoming year.
- Lizzy Brown

The Oaks is so special to me because of the deep rooted Christian community that is formed from the retreat. Coming into college I was seeking deep Christian community that I could grow and foster throughout my time at Auburn and the oaks was able to provide me with that and provide me some of my closest friends here at Auburn. I am serving the oaks to help provide the opportunity for incoming freshman to experience the same deep community that I was thankful to experience in my time at the oaks as a freshman!

OAKS RETREAT
DETAILS
The Oaks is a three day, two night retreat where students can expect to begin building a foundation for their time at Auburn, Southern Union, or Tuskegee. Throughout the weekend they will attend several worship and teaching sessions and topic based breakout sessions. They will have the opportunity to spend time with their family groups, diving into deep community with one another and with the Lord. Students will also get the chance to attend our Ministry Fair, which is set up for our partner churches and ministries to be available for the students to get to know them and ask questions.
